Spring: Most of the waders have now left the tidal river bank here on the Torridge. We are left with a motley crew of gulls, mainly herring and lesser black-backed of varying ages with one or two great black backs. Mallard and Canada geese are nesting on and around the saltmarsh while cormorants fish the river. Even the sandpipers are now more secretive while a pair of oystercatchers remain ever present.

As well as a large oil of snow buntings on the sea defences at Westward Ho! I have been painting some local views of the North Devon Coast and the River Torridge.

Here is the latest on-line catalogue.

Despite Covid closing galleries and restricting movement I have been fortunate with  commissioned paintings, on-line sales and working on and a couple of pieces for the annual SWLA exhibition, the Natural Eye, from 28 October at the Mall Galleries in London. I also now have an eye to my next one-man exhibition in the autumn of 2021 with a working title of ESTUARY.  Having moved to the banks of the River Torridge I need go no further - it is Tarka (the otter) country, rich in wildlife and wild in environments...

The Mountains exhibition at Gallery Different, Fitzrovia (watercolours and oils featuring the wildlife and landscapes of the Alps and Atlas mountains in winter and summer,) was a great success with a fabulous turn out at the preview and lots of interest during the week - thank you to all who came.
