Andrew Stock has been a professional artist since leaving school in 1978. Inspired by his love of the natural world and painting mainly in oils and watercolours he has built an international reputation on successful exhibitions and commissions in London and abroad.

His early enthusiasm for bird painting has not diminished, although his portfolio now includes landscapes, boats and figures. Whether he is trekking in the Himalayan foothills or in a small boat in the Outer Hebrides the natural patterns, textures and play of light are so often the moment of inspiration. It is from these scribbles and sketches made in the field that the final paintings are usually developed in the studio.

Andrew has recently (September 2009) stepped down as President of the Society of Wildlife Artists (SWLA) having served a term of five years. The first President of the SWLA (in 1964), Sir Peter Scott, the great conservationist and artist, encouraged Andrew in his early painting career.

Andrew is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) and has a growing reputation for the uncompromising skill and detail in his etchings.
